Kirsten
Hello everyone,
I’m Kirsten Winch. I’m so pleased to be part of the Comenius Project. It is going to be great to get to know all the partners of the exchange and meet you all face to face.
Let me try to give you an idea about who I am, how I spend my time and the things which are important to me…
I love my course at Anniesland College - HNC “Working with Communities.” It’s all about working with groups of people and understanding them. It’s a perfect course for me because I am really interested in people, their lives and what it is that motivates them.
A lot of my time is spent with my family and friends. I like meeting with friends, dancing, going to gigs or just talking. It is a real treat when I have the chance to go to the theatre. I love all kinds of creative arts, like books, drama and sometimes I even do a bit of writing myself…
I sing with a local choir, the Paisley Philharmonic Choir and we are celebrating our 20 years anniversary this year, so lots of special concerts planned.
I often play badminton once a week. I like running to keep myself fit and there are some nice places to run near my house. In September I might do the 10km “Great Scottish Run” - a big organised charity run through the centre of Glasgow… if I have the energy!
My part time job is in “Marks and Spencer”. This is a traditional, well-established shop in the UK that sells everything from Furniture to Shoes. It has a big reputation for selling top-quality food too...mmmmm
Also I'm very passionate about South Africa: the country, the politics, the people etc. During 2004-2005 I was able to live and work in a school there. It is a very beautiful place with interesting people and would love to go back there to visit, maybe in the next few years.
I would say that just about ‘sums me up’. It will be good to get to know you all better over the next while…
See you soon!
